Repair & Advice
Tried to repair old board. Thought it was just a dirty or stuck microswitch. Eventually removed switch from board and it still reported closed switch. Replaced board works like a charm. Replacement board is exact replacement with updated firmware.

Problem
Dryer control would beep intermittently and lights would flash. Unit could be made to run (with heat) for a minute or less.
Tools
Philips head and square tip screwdriver, duct tape.
Repair & Advice
I was able to get info on removal of dryer top panel and the control board as well as a troubleshooting flow chart from another website. (These would be nice to have been included with the part!) The change was easy, although due to dryer location I had to take extra precautions not to drop screws or tools behind the unit. Use a cell phone to photograph the control wire connections before disassembly to make sure that they are reinstalled properly. Be careful to align the stem of the rotating control knob with the board when installing. The instruction sheet provided with the control board was not relevant or useful. The instructions tell you to use a grounding strap (which I did not do or have), but in my experience it is very rare to have a circuit board actually damaged by static electricity when handling.
