I was not sure if this was even the correct part to fix my problem, but it worked and was simple to replace! I took off the back panel with hex head wrench, vacuumed the dust, but it still wasn’t cooling. I could hear a clicking sound as I plugged in the refrigerator as if it was trying to switch on the compressor but the compressor never turned on. After receiving this part (overnight shipping was seamless) I unscrewed a couple of Phillips head screws on the old one, unplugged a few electrical connections, reconnected the wires to the new one and then installed the new part, securing it with existing screws. It worked! I hope this helps someone else. The repairman cost to come and fix this was $700, the part on Bosch web site was $400. The part on Parts Dr was less than on Bosch even with paying expedited shipping.

Bosch refrigerator inverter control board bad after power outage.

Refrigerator stopped cooling after power outage. You Tube video of service technician troubleshooting the same problem for this model of Bosch refrigerator showed how to check voltages on the board and how to remove board and how to test the compressor in order to isolate the problem to the board. Looked on line for a replacement board. Many options of used and refurbished boards (from China) and some others offering new boards but did not say they were OEM Bosch replacement part. Turns out the board and the compressor are made by Embraco which are used in many refrigerator brands. So the part was not actually made by Bosch but it was indeed an actual Embraco labeled unit. The part was manufactured in China for Embraco. It was the exact part. If you check the Embraco web site, you will see that all the numbers need to match up. There are parts that look identical but have different numbers and as such may not interface with the compressor and other control boards on your refrigerator. So be sure to get the right board and Parts Dr. will lead you to the right part. I looked at their website for their return policy and as it is with most electronic parts, if you open it and try it, you cannot return it. As such, I waited to open the box until I was on the phone with a technical guy of Parts Dr. and he assured me that the part in the box would be OEM despite all the Chinese writing on the box. He said that they only sell OEM parts. It was competitively priced. I recommend Parts Dr. for your appliance repair parts needs.

Refrigerator stopped working after prolonged power outage.

Phillips head screw driver, Torx #10 screw driver, cordless drill

Refrigerator was not surge protected and the inverter control board for the compressor blew when the power returned. I replaced it by transferring the existing electrical harness off of the old part and the new part you supplied.
