Problem
Broken lid switch. Wouldn't drain or spin
Tools
Screwdriver and needle nose pliers
Repair & Advice
I unscrewed 2 screws from control panel in back or washing machine. Then lifted the control panel up and unplugged old lid switch from the board. There were two spots where the cable had clips that came through the metal to hold the harness. I squeezed the clips with the needle nose pliers to push clip through. Then removed old lid switch and harness. I then plugged the new one in and lined up the new clips with the holes and they snapped in, then installed the switch and plugged the new switch plug into the board. Then closed the control panel and screwed it back on.

Problem
The little piece inside the lid lock that actually locks the lid broke off. I tried everything I could thing of to try and “bypass” the lid lock on their machine, but nothing worked. It’s a terrible design by GE!
Tools
Screw driver, small (maybe 7mm) nut driver with extension.
Repair & Advice
The part shipped quickly! It was out of stock on the actual GE website and at local appliance parts places. But Parts Direct had it in stock. Since it was for an Airbnb house that I had guests staying in, I paid for the quicker shipping and it arrived in a few business days!
Just needed to remove a few screws and bolts to replace it. The trickiest part was getting the cable housing clipped into place.
