Washer would not function due to faulty door lock assembly

We had two problems with the part. First, the lock assembly should be sent with the underside and topside separated. They have to be separated to make the repair and separating them is no simple task. This was a very difficult task as it is locked in and the margin to separate the two is very tight. Second, unbeknownst to us, the lock assembly was received in the locked position so once we installed the part, the washer door would not shut. Being novices, we couldn’t figure out why the assembly wouldn’t allow the latch to enter. It took us several hours to finally stumble our way to manually unlocking the assembly so the door would close and the repair to work.

Washer Lid did not lock.

The washer lid would not lock and would not continue the cycle. Clothes would not spin out.

Maytag washer had a problem with the lid/lock switch

The first lid/lock that came was defective, I spoke to customer service and they shipped me a replacement part. I installed it, took less than 10 minutes, started up the washer and perfect!
