Problem
Lid lock broken
Tools
Screwdriver, nutdriver
Repair & Advice
Not a hard repair, just need to understand how your lid comes off. Mine was held on by brackets in the back, not by a spring clip in the front.

Problem
UL or DU error showed repeatedly. Owner’s manual indicated a lid lock malfunction. Google search indicated the lid lock mechanism would need to be replaced.
Tools
Screwdriver, putty knife, pliers
Repair & Advice
I watched a You Tube video and this repair was easy. The hardest part was releasing the clips to tilt the top of the washer up. My washer seemed to have slightly different clips than other versions of the Maytag Bravo XL. If it hadn’t been for the clips, I would rate this repair very easy with a 15-30 minute repair time. Part works exactly as expected and I have experienced no issues with the washer since the replacement.
