Problem
Dryer would not spin
Tools
Phillips screw driver, socket set, snap ring pliers
Repair & Advice
Found out the motor on my Neptune dryer was shot. I ordered it with overnight shipping from Parts Dr. I found a video on YouTube that showed how to remove and replace the motor. The installation was moderately difficult and took about a half hour but well worth it as I'm sure I saved a ton of money by not having to have a technician do the labor. Make sure to use a pair of snap ring pliers to remove and install the snap rings that keep the fan in place.

Problem
Motor locked up.
Tools
Electric drill w/bits, pliers and screwdriver.
Repair & Advice
Dryer began to not dry properly, then the drum would not turn. A quick check proved the dryer tub was not turning and would only turn backward by hand. Removed the tub and found the motor was seized. Ordered this motor because it was a direct replacement, wires and all.

Problem
Motor was shot
Tools
Phillips screwdriver, 5/16” nut driver, 1/4” nut driver voltage meter, channel locks and a flashlight.
Repair & Advice
Took the door screws out. Removed the front cover Then six 5/16 another panel and removed the drum. Took the face off the blower compartment and blower wheel. Then removed the back of the blower housing. Undid the wiring harness and motor mounts. Removed and installed the new motor and replaced all the components previously removed. Factory replacement parts are my favorite way to go. The hardest part for me was getting the drum belt in place. I spent more time cleaning the excess lint than repairing. Wear gloves if possible lots of sharp edges.
