Loud bearing noise on spin cycle

I couldn’t find a YouTube video for this newer washer. First you need to take the top cover off. It’s all screws. And wires to unplug. You need to take the drum out first. If you don’t you can’t align the new gear assembly. Turn the washer on its back and remove the motor then the gear assembly.

Transmission/clutch assembly stopped working for Samsung washer.

Pliers ratcheting Philips screw driver, long flat head screw driver socket set, most nuts will be 10mm. pipe wrench and rubber mallet to undo nut and remove washer drum.

Easy repair, just took some time is all. Repaired our machine for well under $200. Some advice, there are black plastic pieces attached to the clutch assembly with nuts secured deep inside. If you are struggling to remove these with a Philips, take a larger, long flat head screwdriver and stick it into your 10mm socket. Works like a charm. Pipe wrench and rubber mallet to remove the big nut to remove the drum. The big nut is a reverse thread, so lefty tightly, right loosey. Where you can, loosen up electrical wiring by unscrewing or unclipping fasteners. This will allow for slack when you have to lift the top part of your machine to remove the drum. Otherwise the wires will pull and stretch. Job took me 4 hours, but largely due to cramped space, lack of help. Should take you under 2 hours probably.

Washer made a loud rubbing noise during the wash cycle.

My son in law repaired it so I'm not sure about how it was dine. It only took about 20 minutes.
