Repair & Advice
There are very good YouTube videos available -- best to consult these (with prodigious use of the pause button).
Removing and reinstalling the "outer spring clamp" in order to remove the front panel was the hardest part of the install.
The control panel is attached by screws through some fairly flimsy plastic tabs -- do not over tighten.
Take the time to remove the rear panel and all of the hoses. Clean every hose. After repair is complete, run "Pure Cycle" for that extra clean touch.
Tip: These machines have a "Spin Only" option that is not well documented -- After powering on, hold the "Spin" button in for several seconds until the minutes display shows fewer minutes (mine is 11 minutes).
Tip: I tested my "bad pump" by applying AC to the contacts after removing the pump. The pump seemed fine. It was not fine. If the washer doesn't drain, unless there is an actual blockage (check filter, too), the problem is very, very rarely anything but the pump.
Tip: It is possible to purchase the drain pump separately from the drain pump assembly and save a few dollars but why would you want to introduce a failure (leak) point. Buy the assembly, part # DC96-01585D.
Tip: The YouTube videos warn about sharp edges. Heed these warnings! Wear gloves when removing and reinstalling the front panel (at the very least).
Tip: Keep track of order of part removal and screw locations.
The whole repair was a little time-consuming but "not rushing" and the $$$ saved on a service call and $$$ saved on parts from Parts Dr win the day! Best of luck!
BTW, now that the washer is fixed, we are convinced that the washer is running better than it has for several years -- the pump must have been weak for awhile and the hoses a little clogged.
Finally, the Parts Dr part is perfect and the delivery time and service was excellent!

Repair & Advice
A repair service wanted $100 to diagnose the problem I already had diagnosed. Then they would have given me an estimate and supposedly returned the hundred dollars if I gave them the job. I saved several hundred dollars by doing the repair myself. I found a video on YouTube that gave me step by step instructions. It was very simple to do and it worked perfectly.
