Problem
Ice maker error code 39 C after installing the ice maker.
Tools
Philips screwdriver, wire markers
Repair & Advice
I had the infamous ice maker not working problem on my Samsung 4 door frig. I replaced the ice maker, installed the Y clips and sealed the ice room. Still no ice and the frig had error code 39 C which is a ice maker failure code. The next logical step would be replace the main control board. I ordered the new main control board from Parts Dr. after making sure that my old main control board part number matched the new control board I was ordering. After receiving the new board I opened the circuit board compartment after unplugging the frig. ( 5 screws. Pay attention one of them is a machine screw ). I took a picture of the old main board connections and printed it. I then marked each plug and noted the location on the printed picture. You really don't need to do that step because all of the plugs are keyed and it would be next to impossible to screw up the connections. I took out the old board and installed the new board and re-assembled the frig and turned it back on. I checked for the error code about 1 hour later and it was gone. It started dropping ice in the ice bucket about 3 hours after I turned the frig back on. For those of you that have the Samsung 4 door frig with the flex room, check your display after the new install. The new circuit board defaults to freezer and energy saver which I changed. Super easy repair.

Problem
The fridge would turn off and on, on its own several times an hour.
Tools
Screwdriver.
Repair & Advice
The fridge would turn OFF and ON, on its own constantly. It would not let the fridge freeze and cool(Temp would rise), which would cause all the frozen stuff to start to thaw. Very simple repair.

Well-known Samsung RF23J9011SG/AA refrigerator ice maker freeze-up issue

Screwdriver, additional repair parts
Repair & Advice
While our appliances were bought in the US, they were for our home in Baja California, Mexico. Although Samsung was fairly responsive when we reported the ice maker issue (also reported by so many others) cropped up for us after 3 years, arranging for a Samsung service call was effectively impossible, for a number of reasons.
Parts Dr. was very helpful in assuring that we had the proper parts, which we had shipped to a family member's address in the US for pickup when next we were back stateside. Parts fit perfectly, and Parts Dr. site videos were helpful as a reference for doing the repair. I'd rate the repair as "mostly easy", as long as one takes one's time and is careful to use lots of caution when removing the ice maker itself, in order to not damage the cooling loop.
The control board was NOT used in our repair. It was bought as "insurance" in case the repair of the mechanical parts was not enough to fix the freeze-up problem. After a couple of weeks of operation with no further freeze-up issues, we won't need to install this part. We'll just store the board in case we should need it in the future.
My rating of the time to accomplish was total time to do the job once the refrigerator was defrosted enough to begin.
