Washer door would not lock.

Screwdriver.

After five weeks waiting for a repair, I went online to see how to do the repair and order the parts, which came in three days. I got both the door latch and door lock (Electrolux front loading washing machine.)

OEM latch snapped off in the locking mechanism.

Screwdriver/drill disassembly necessary. Removing the door switch is a minor challenge and finding the internal release to expell the snapped off metal piece stuck within.

Had to replace the OEM latch in order to utilize the equipment. That is all.

Door won't stay closed

Four stars instead of five because of the astronomical price for this simple part. The latch only takes a minute to install on the washer door. There will most likely be a broken piece of the old latch stuck in the catch. Easiest way to dislodge it is to remove the catch, disconnect the cable and dismantle it. That takes another five minutes or so.
