Problem
No heat from dryer
Tools
Philips screwdriver, 1/4" box wrench
Repair & Advice
Maytag DG 8000 not producing heat. No continuity from flame sensor or ignitor. Gas valve coils were ok but decided to change since they are 30 years old. All other sensors and thermostats checked out good. Found these parts on Parts Dr. to be reasonable priced, excellent OEM quality and fast shipping. This repair cost me $52.00, less than 1 hour to do and waited 3 days for delivery. Well worth it to me. I have already ordered drum rollers, belt and tension pulley which have never been replaced. Will use Parts Dr. for all future appliance repair parts.

Problem
Gas flame would not always come on after the igniter started to glow brightly. Suspected that the flame sensor contacts were not opening. Vacuumed out all the lint in case some was blocking the sensor window, but the problem persisted.
Tools
1/4" nut driver
Repair & Advice
Took the wires off the sensor, removed the 1/4" screw off the top, and rotated the sensor down until it came out. Reversed the steps with the new sensor. Ran a drying cycle to verify that the new sensor opens when the igniter got hot.

Tight area to work in. on back made it more difficult. if located at top of machine with easy access, it would be easy to do.
