Problem
Washer door seal had a tear in it, causing protruding metal fibers to tear clothing.
Tools
Used this adhesive and a #W10906683 Door Seal, also purchased on Parts Dr., to replace. Both worked great.
Repair & Advice
We have a Kenmore dryer. 4+ years old and service/repair no longer available from out of business Sears. The door seal (the grey ring on the inside of the door that helps it shut tightly) tore and the metal strands inside were ripping our clothing. A little research on this site and others led me to the door seal ring (#W10906683 Door Seal) and this site helpfully listed the adhesive as a “buy together” suggestion. Both arrived quickly and worked well. The adhesive is difficult to apply without making a mess. Wore gloves and used 100% acetone to clean off any leftover glue. Then aired out for 12 hours before using dryer, just in case, due to flammable nature of adhesive/acetone.
