Repair & Advice
Replacing the thermostat was easy. I knew the old one was bad because of its physical condition. The new thermostat helped. The dryer is usable. I have another problem. I think it is in the timer/control unit. This caused the heater mounted to the thermostat to stay on too long. This killed the original thermostat. I think. We now use the "PermaPress" setting on the "Fabric Selector" switch very sparingly and we never leave it there when the cycle has finished. When I get the time and money, I will replace the dryer.
