Problem
Ice would not dispense, auger didn't spin due to threads on motor being stripped.
Tools
Small screw driver, 1/4 inch nut driver, dremel cut off wheel, hammer.
Repair & Advice
Used screw driver to release clips to get ice maker out, pulled hard to get the unit partially out and unplugged wires before pulling unit all the way out. tried to tap yoke off but it wouldn't catch threads to spin off. used dremel cut off wheel to cut motor shaft at yoke and was able to pry yoke off. removed screws with nut driver, pulled off motor, transferred wires, cleaned up debris from cutting shaft, replaced motor, spun on yoke, slid unit back into place, replaced wire harness made sure unit was fully into place, replaced harness cover. we're now have ice being dispensed. hardest part was getting yoke off motor shaft.

Problem
Ice maker wouldn’t dispense on Whirlpool refrigerator.
Tools
Nut driver with 1/4” socket to remove the three screws attaching motor and gearbox assembly to ice maker.
Repair & Advice
Simple repair. Remove the cover on the bottom left side of the ice maker that exposes the wiring harness. This just pries loose and you may use a flat screwdriver to loosen. Pull tab on the left side of the assembly towards ice maker and then slide the entire assembly out. Unhook wiring harnesses. From here you remove the auger which is a left-handed thread. Three screws hold the auger motor and gearbox in. Remove the assembly and then follow steps in reverse to reassemble.
