My burner valve (top right) would not turn on my Whirlpool stove. I tried oiling and wiggling with pliers but it was fully jammed and stuck. I replaced it fairly easily as the front came right off on this stove - it was much easier than thought because on this particular model/type the valve screws right out after you remove the screws holding it in place, as opposed to other stoves where you have to lift the entire burner assembly.
