Problem
Microwave over-stove light control did not work, light was on all the time. The Triac on the control board was shorted.
Tools
#2 phillips screwdriver.
Repair & Advice
When changing your microwave/range hood over stove light bulb, unplug the microwave or insure that the light switch is in the off position. If you don't and happen to short AC power to ground while replacing the light bulb you can short out the Triac light control device on the microwave control board. You can replace the Triac or for me it was easier to just replace the whole control board.
Unplug the microwave, remove the control panel, take a picture of the wire connections on the back of the control panel before you disconnect anything. Disconnect the control panel and remove the old control board and replace it with the new control board. Reconnect the interface wiring referring to your picture. Re-install the control panel, and replace the light bulb that started the whole issue... Plug the microwave back in and check for functionality.

Problem
The light on the Kitchen-Aid microwave would not turn off.
Tools
Phillips head screwdriver.
Repair & Advice
Researched the problem. found out i needed a new control panel. but make sure you order the right part. Kitchen Aid said one number but when i removed the original part it had another so I had to return the part (no-problem) and get the new one which corrected the problem.
