Repair & Advice
The Problem:
The dishwasher seemed to be running normally but the dishes were not getting clean.
Troubleshooting:
A. I opened the dishwasher door during the wash cycle. The spray bars were turning very slowly and the water was streaming out of them instead of spraying.
My first thought was the Circ. Pump was bad but I noticed that the water level in the bottom of the dishwasher seemed low.
B. I poured about 2 quarts of water into the sump of the dishwasher after the fill cycle to bring the water level just up to the float switch and ran an express wash cycle.
When I opened the door during the wash cycle, the spray bars were turning much faster and the water was spraying out of them normally.
At the end of the test wash the dishes were clean.
Root Cause of the Problem:
The Fill Valve screen was clogged by sediment and mineral deposits.
Corrective Action:
Ordered and replaced the dishwasher Fill Valve.
This was an easy job (about 10 minutes) and did not have to remove the dishwasher to replace the Fill Valve.

Problem
Machine was not washing efficiently, it did not have enough water (or power) to dissolve the soap pod.
Tools
Screwdrivers.
Repair & Advice
Replacing this valve was the first thing websites recommend to do, although it did not fix the problem for me (the purchased valve was just fine, just not what we had to replace). Eventually, we continued searching and the next thing to do was the replace the "pump and motor". We bought the part from Parts Dr. as well. We replaced it and that fixed the problem.

Problem
Inlet valve intermittently allowing slow flow of water into dishwasher.
Tools
Channel locks and 1/4" nut driver.
Repair & Advice
Replacing this valve is about a 5 minute job. Turn off the water supply, remove the screw holding it to the frame, remove water supply hose and outlet hose. Do the reverse to install the new valve.
