Problem
Dryer drum not spinning
Tools
Channel lock pliers, 7/16” wrench, adjustable wrench, 5/16” nut driver and putty knife
Repair & Advice
Client reported that her clothes were not drying, I started the dryer and determined that it was heating but the drum wasn’t turning. After removing the lid, door and drum I discovered the motor pulley had broken in half and cut the belt. I ordered a new motor pulley from Partsdr.COM and replaced the broken pulley and installed a new belt from my stock. Use a 7/16” wrench to hold the motor shaft while removing and installing the pulley.

Drum would not spin

Repair & Advice
Look around for a supplier like Parts Dr. My drive pulley on the motor was broken as was the belt. Many vendors wanted to sell the motor and pulley as an assembly. That’s a ripoff. Parts Dr. Fixed me up. FedEx lost my package and Parts Dr. Immediately sent a replacement of my order all I did was return the original order when it showed up eight days later. Good folks. Just remember to squeeze the belt and put it between the tensioner bracket pin and pulley then open the loop to go over the drive pulley.
