Problem
Water was leaking from the heat vent in the dishwasher door during the washing cycle. The vent seal was deteriorated and the vent needed replacing.
Tools
Screwdriver - to remove the door panel screws, silicone caulking.
Repair & Advice
Diagnosing and replacing the vent was easy. I removed the outer dishwasher door panel and ran a wash cycle to determine the cause of the leak. Once I determined it was from the vent, I removed the inner door panel screws and latch screws to access the vent piece. After removing the vent from the door panel (it simply snaps on with plastic clips), I placed a bead of silicone caulking on the new vent and snapped it into place. After letting the caulking dry, I replaced the door latch and inner panel, ran a test wash cycle to be sure it wasn't leaking, and replaced the remaining outer panel. The longest part of the process was waiting for the caulk to dry to run a test.
