Problem
GE Stacked Washer drain pump stopped working.
Tools
Phillips & slotted screwdriver & self adjusting wrench
Repair & Advice
After turning off power to washer/dryer, using the slotted screwdriver, removed the front panel & disconnected the drain hose from the back of the washer. Using the wrench, pried open the clamps to the hose connected to the broken drain pump & used the phillips screwdriver to remove the pump from the base of the washer. Replaced with the new pump and attached everything back on. This is the 2nd time the pump had to be replaced and it is very easy to do, a one person job. Keep an extra pump handy because GE uses a very small drain pump that wears out fairly quick. The stacked washer/dryer is only 3 years old and this is the 2nd pump replacement. Parts Dr has been our go to place to buy this part and their customer service is excellent!

Problem
Drain pump was damaged because the wife didn't make sure the kids pockets were empty .
Tools
1/4 sock , 3 inch extension , 1/4 ratchet, hose clamp pliers . A tiny bucket to catch the water from the hoses .
Repair & Advice
Bunch of sand and grit was left in the kids pockets and that just destroyed the drain pump . Ordered from here and got it super fast . Removed the front cover of the washer , unbolted the pump which is only two quarter inch screws , removed the hose clamps and drained the water into a small flat pan . Disconnected the 2 electric connectors and the pump was out . Super ready repair so if you gotta make this repair just grab a 6 pack and fake it like it's such a hard job the misses will never know .
