Integrated Heater Element shorted out

Screwdriver, wire stripper, crimper, socket set

Dishwasher was kicking out breaker, diagnosed that heater was shorted out. Heater is integrated in pump. Big issue to watch for is burnt out connector. I had to replace the connector and circulation pump. After cutting off non-serviceable clamps I replaced them with the screw clamps included in kit. Pretty straightforward other than burnt out connector.

My ge dishwasher was popping the circuit breaker.

Wire cutter, screw driver, socket wrench.

Found that the connector that plugged into the pump had melted and shorted out. Removed the old pump and contacted GE service. Ge representative could not answer all of my questions, she didn’t have anymore information then what I had access to on-line. Found the part on Parts Dr and talked to their representative who answered my questions I needed to know. The part arrived two days later. It was the correct part and the installation was easy. It was my fist time using Parts Dr and I was impressed enough to take the time to write this review (the first on-line review I’ve ever done). I will use them in the future. Brad
