Repair & Advice
I was fortunate that the original installer of my dishwasher used a cord and hose long enough that I didn't need to disconnect everything in order to pull out the unit. Once I pulled it out, all I needed to do was disconnect the electrical connectors and unscrew the retaining nuts and pull the old element out then installed the new one, replaced the nuts and reconnected the electrical. It took me about 15 minutes to complete the installation.

Repair & Advice
In addition to the coil replace WD21X10519 GE Appliance Switch Flood Asm at the same time. Easy to put in both and you are most assured to fix the problem for just a little bit more.
