Problem
LP gas supply but set up for natural gas
Tools
9/32 Socket with extension. Small piece of masking tape.
Repair & Advice
Our new home had the wrong setup for LP gas. It burned with yellow flames and was covering our pots and pans with black soot. We couldn’t operate it at above about a 2 or 3 setting. During the supply chain crunch we couldn’t find the spuds and hand an order for a new drive delayed for months. By finding partsdr.com I saved over 1000 bucks by not having to buy new!
East repair. Just remove the burner cap, and burner base by hand . No tools necessary.
You can now see the oriface spud. Take the 9/36 socket with the masking tape bunches inside and remove the old spud
Secure the new spud so it doesn’t fall out when lowering it into place. Tighten.
Repeat the process 4x for the rest of the burners and the bases and caps back in place.
No more soot covered pots and pans!
