Oven Igniter (Bake)

Problem
Propane gas could not ignite as control valve would not open. Igniter did not get sufficiently hot, though it did glow red.
Tools
Small socket wrench and Philips screwdriver.
Repair & Advice
Pulled out oven, turned off gas, unplugged from wall receptacle. From back, disconnected igniter. Removed oven's interior bottom panel, removed two mounting bolts, and pulled wire connector through back panel. Discarded old igniter.
Taking the oven door off before starting made it easier to move the oven and work inside, though spouse insisted everything needed a deep cleaning before proceeding with igniter replacement. This included dismantling the door to clean door windows on their interior sides. It has to be admitted that the oven does look like new now.
Wore nitrile gloves while handling new igniter to avoid contaminating new igniter coil (ceramic, so best to avoid touching directly). Pushed wire plug of new igniter through back panel, and mounted igniter using original bolts. At back of oven, connected igniter, turned on gas, and plugged oven back into wall receptacle. Test fired the oven by turning to bake and observing ignition. Turned off bake, allowed oven to cool, and then replaced bottom panel. Pushed oven back into place. All good.
(Time to effect repair does not include cleaning.)

My wife was freaking out because our oven ignitor went out two days before Thanksgiving and we were hosting with family. I order the part on Tues. and it was delivered on Wed., day before Thanksgiving. I was able to fix the oven in about a 1/2hr and was very impressed that the part was delivered so fast. I would highly recommend Part Dr for there prompt shipping and service.

Repair & Advice
Easy to replace. Just have to be careful that you do not touch glow bars as they are very fragile.
