Problem
Lid broke. Design flaw.
Tools
Screwdriver.
Repair & Advice
Easy replacement. Last whirlpool item I will ever purchase. Obviously a design flaw and many people appear to be forced to spend money on the replacement that the company should make right, but as usual with large companies, it’s cheaper to ignore us.

Problem
Lid frame was cracked and would not close properly or lock.
Tools
Torx bit screw driver or ratchet.
Repair & Advice
It was pretty straight forward. Just two screws on either side of the lid. Getting the screws out with the washer in place in the laundry room was a little challenging due to clearance around the washer but I was able to do it with a Torx bit attached to a ratchet.
