Repair & Advice
After disconnecting the stove, we removed the glass cooktop and turned it over on a flat surface. The original heating element had one more connection terminal than the new replacement element, so it initially appeared quite confusing. But by comparing the labeled terminals on the original and new elements (which were very difficult to read without a flashlight and magnification), we were able to figure out which wires would attach to each of the terminals on the new dual element. We also marked the locations on the new element where the bar that holds the element in place should be attached. Then it was simply a matter of switching out the old non-working element with the new one, making the wire connections, putting the bar back on and reinstalling the cooktop. The new dual element and the rest of the cooktop elements all work great!
