I broke the control knob when I let an object hit it. Be careful to get the correct part when ordering: I ordered a similar but incorrect part first (wrong dryer model - my fault); then Parts Dr shipped wrong part (gray trim, but not the main white knob) when I ordered the correct one. Parts Dr customer service was very responsive and shipped the correct part quickly. Make sure you keep the metal retaining clip from the broken knob, because a new one is not supplied with the replacement part. Without the retaining clip, the knob is not held tightly to the dryer shaft. Installation was a little tricky, since there's no easy way to position the clip *after* you've slid the knob on. I pre-positioned the clip (using needle nose to spread it slightly) on the sleeve of the knob before sliding the knob on. Had to try it a few times to get the position right so that A: I could get the knob on to the shaft (too tight and it won't go, and you might damage the shaft trying) and B: it would actually hold tightly enough to the shaft. A couple time repositioning the clip at different places on the sleeve was required to get the right balance.
