Repair & Advice
After my new GE dishwasher was installed, it worked great except for the bottom rack. The rack was a little difficult to roll out from the dishwasher. After checking the installation of the rollers, it appeared that one (or more) had been installed incorrectly. I spent a very long time searching through my very limited printed GE manual, every GE online manual I could find related and not related to my particular dishwasher in order to find even a photo of how the rollers should be attached. After finding neither written directions nor a diagram, I attempted to move two of the roller kits to a different position. While re-attaching one kit, I broke off the plastic prongs. That was the beginning of a second search for a replacement carrier. Not only did I need to research again for what the part was officially called, but I also needed a part number. Absolutely nothing associated with GE helped. I was resigned to just using the dishwasher with three sets of wheels, but the bottom rack would wobble sideways out of the dishwasher when pulled out to empty or fill the bottom rack. I decided to search again online trying to find out the name of the part. I saw two diagrams, which enlarged, showed "wheel carrier kit." I did not need the wheels, but I now was able to search for the specific part. Hallelujah! However, not GE, but PARTSdr.com was the ONLY source which showed ordering information for this part. I was able to order the part online at a reasonable cost. But that's not all. The replacement part came with a page of diagrams AND written instructions for installing the part AND troubleshooting! I am very impressed with everything associated with PARTSdr. And I would not hesitate to order from the company again. Thanks so much, PARTSdr.com!
