Repair & Advice
I had held off this repair when only the OFF button failed (used the "Breaker off", or set the "stop timer" a minute ahead to get the range turned off. But when the whole panel stopped working, it was time for action. The choice was 1) replace the range; 2) call the repairman; or 3) fix it myself. A little research on the PartsDr site suggested the replacement of the control panel was straightforward, so I ordered the panel from them. I found it a very easy task to replace the control panel. Slide the range out, remove the four screws holding the side trip in place, remove the three screws under the control panel frame, and lift up the panel (Remember to turn off the power!!). The hardest part was wiggling the panel a bit to be able to lift it up and tilt it back to access the screws that hold the control portion in place,. Removal of six more screws freed up the old control, replacing it was a snap. Voila, works like new, much cheaper than a new range or a service call.
