Repair & Advice
The part was fine but a 15 minute job turned into 1 hour+: (1) the two screws holding down the burner were frozen - WD-40 helped. (2) I couldn't remove the small screw holding down the igniter without stripping it, and then had to drill it out and then drill the hole larger for a new screw. (AND be sure to use vice grips to keep the igniter wire from falling into the range cavity!) BUT when done I discovered that, while the igniter would now spark, the burner switch wouldn't operate it, as a wire in the switch harness was shorted and broken and the switch was melted. Check this first in case it is the real problem, and if needed have a new harness in hand.
