Problem
Oven burner wouldnt come on. Top burners worked fine and broiler worked fine but when you turned oven on preheat the burner wouldnt come on.
Tools
Flashlight, 5/16 socket, phillipshead screwdriver.
Repair & Advice
Lifted off the bottom tray to see the igniter it was glowing but didnt look white hot like it wasnt getting hot enough for the safety valve to open for the burner to come on. I ordered the part friday and got it saturday was very easy to replace. Unplugged the electrical cord, pulled out the bottom drawer took out two phillips head screws from metal plate to get to the wires unplugged the old igniter used 5\16 socket to remove the two screws that hold the igniter in place removed igniter. Fed the wires from new igniter thru the hole pushed the connector together, put the two phillips head screws back in the plate covering the wires put the two screws back in the new igniter to mount it plugged the power cord back in and the oven works like brand new now. Maybe took 15-20 mins to replace if that. The broiler igniter and oven igniter are interchangeable if i wanted to swap them to make sure the igniter was bad, but ive had to replace igniters on commercial gas dryers before that were acting the same doing maintenance so i just bought the new igniter. Very impressed with partsdr.com service being able to order the part friday and received it the next day saturday.

Problem
Even thought part was glowing, it was too weak to help light the oven. After replacing it and baking a pecan pie, I find it had been failing for a long time. I no longer had to add cooking time to finish whatever I was cooking. Operates just like new now!!
Tools
Screwdriver
Repair & Advice
Glad we replaced
