Problem
Found that rear felt seal had failed due to age & use.
Tools
philips screwdriver, flat screwdriver, 1/4" drive ratchet, putty knife, utility knife, rag and mineral spirits
Repair & Advice
I was repairing other parts of my dryer when I noticed that the rear felt seal had completely failed from age, use, and heat, leaving bits of felt all over the inside of the dryer. The new seal comes with ample glue for the new seal. It's necessary to get all of the old seal and glue off before installing the new seal. This is a bit tedious, requiring lots of scraping with putty knife and utility knife, followed by scrubbing with mineral spirits to remove the glue residue. The new seal is glued on with the supplied glue. There are many instructional videos on this. One video suggests using clothes pins to hold the new seal in place while you go around and glue it. I found this to be very helpful. Be sure to clean up excess glue and don't let it run into the channel where the drum rollers contact the drum. I let the glue dry overnight before re-installing.

Problem
Over the many years of use, the dryer felt drum seal was worn out allowing heat to escape from the back of the dryer.
Tools
Socket wrenches, flat head screw driver, scraper, sand paper and clothespins.
Repair & Advice
After releasing the dryer top and removing the door panel, disconnected the drive belt and removed the drum. Used a scraper to remove the old felt seal. Then used sandpaper to remove old adhesive. Applied new adhesive and felt seal. Used a dozen clothespins to hold the seal in place while adhesive dried. Waited 45 minutes and reinstalled the dryer drum.
