Maytag Neptune washer was making a loud noise during the spin cycle. After some research I found problem to be a leaking bearing seal on the washer tub, which caused the bearing to fail.

Used Phillips screwdriver, nut driver, ratchet set, rubber hammer, small sledge hammer metal bar and emery cloth to do the repair.

Was not a difficult job, but did require some pounding to remove the larger of the two bearings. A bearing removal and installing tool would have made the job a lot easier, but couldn’t find one at any of the tool rental centers in my area. Cost was less than $100 verses up to $400 if I had used an appliance company. I also purchased good quality bearings, not made in China knockoffs! Seal kit I would give a 5 overall rating!

Needed a lip seal because I had to change my bearings in the washer.

Screw driver, wire cleaner, wrenches.

Follow YouTube instructions step by step. It's pretty easy and allow time for cleaning washer parts as you go.
