Repair & Advice
It's a pretty straight forward repair. If you get the correct part. I ordered one from the Repair Clinic. Everything seemed correct until I tried to install it. Two of the solenoids were orientated incorrectly. So make sure when ordering the part it mimmics the picture on the web site. I actually called the PartsDr to make sure there part did mimmic the picture. The person I spoke with said there parts are always what the picture looks like. He was 100% correct and the part was almost half the cost.
On to the repair procedure. First unplug the washer and turn off the water. Remove the supply hoses, have a rag and a small bucket to catch some water. I put the ends of the hoses in the bucket as they leak a bit of water. Unscrew the two top hinge screws so you can pull the top forward to get it by the clips so you can lift it. I used a piece of painters tape to hold the lid from opening. Prop the lid open with whatever you can find. I used a section of my shop vac wand, worked fine. remove the hoses that are connected to the inlet valve, note which one goes where (take a picture).
Lower the lid. On the back of the control panel there are (3) 1/4" hex head screws. They are captive screws so they don't come all the way out. Lift the rear of the control panel and tilt it forward and rest it on the lid. Now you can see the inlet valve. Good time for another picture. Remove the wiring harness from the valve. There are two screws holding the valve in. Remove them and the valve will come right out. Now just reverse the process.

Repair & Advice
You tube it! 5 minute repair after you figure out how to open the top of the washer. Beware there are similar washers by Whirlpool. I struggled 30 minutes with wrong instructions before finding the right video. Replacing this part is a matter of removing 3 Phillips screws on back of control panel and removing it. Then 2 screws on back of washer top with a nut driver and sliding the whole top toward the front of he machine to release the front clips. Lift it up and remove the connecting wires, hoses, and 2 screws holding the water intake control valve in place. Also, when you open the box on the new part, make sure the solenoids are turned the right way. I was shipped an almost exact duplicate part, but the solenoids were turned he wrong way and the wiring harness would not fit. After contacting Parts Dr and sending them a pic they advised that although I ordered the right part, and the right part number was on the box, Whirlpool had shipped the wrong part. They had the right one to me in 2 days. The customer service was great.
