Problem
Rusted Ribbon Cable on Control Panel
Tools
Screw driver, pliers, Volt/amp meter(test switch and thermal fuse)
Repair & Advice
The Dish Washer wouldn't start... So I went on line and found a guy who "spoon fed" me through the process of diagnosing the problem. This is key to your success. Don't try to guess... It'll cost you time and $$!! FYI: Check the Ribbon cable on the control panel where the ribbon cable meets the panel on the bottom (hidden) side. Maytag, as I've learned, has a serious problem with that part of the cable rusting (yes... RUSTING!), which caused mine and thousands of others to fail. Easy to work on... The parts are "plug and play." Take photos of everything before you remove components.

Repair & Advice
If you only have lights on part of the panel then this is probably your issue. Installed in 5-10 minutes and worked great.
