Problem
The front corner under my shelf was broken and roller wheel on one side was missing. The new shelf cover did not come with the glass insert, humidity control switch, rubber seals or 2 little roller wheels & screws. Those would have to come from the old part.
Tools
Flat blade scrapper, Phillips head screw driver, Glass cleaner
Repair & Advice
To make the new shelf cover work, the glass, roller wheels, rubber seals and switch mechanism had to be removed from the old shelf & reused.
1. The switch pops apart from the front, then rotating the inside part pops that part off. Install on new shelf in reverse order.
2. Use the flat blade scrapper against the bottom edge of both the seals (near each end) with a twisting motion to pry one side up. Repeat on other end. Then add seal to new shelf, snapping the ends into place.
3. Unscrew wheels and add them to the new shelf (My old shelf was missing 1 wheel. Fortunately, my drawer was broken too & had to be replaced. But it had one remaining wheel so I used that for the second wheel on the shelf).
After that, I put the shelf back in the refrigerator, cleaned & added glass insert.
JOB DONE!
