Problem
Ice maker would randomly produce ice but dumped water regularly that filled the ice bin and froze solid
Tools
Phillips screwdriver and 1/4" nut driver
Repair & Advice
Used a hairdryer to melt enough ice off the back of bin to remove it from the freezer due to the fact that ithe bin was just a frozen block of ice, then to swap the new ice maker was quick and easy with just 3 screws and a plug connection. The new water line that was supplied was not the right size or length but I reused the old tube and all works great

Problem
Ice maker would cycle but would not turn on water inlet valve to fill ice tray.
Tools
Quarter inch drive socket, small flat head screwdriver.
Repair & Advice
Locate refrigerator/freezer model number, and serial number. Give Parts Dr. a call for the part that needs to be replaced. When you receive your part unplug the power to the appliance. Then loosen screws holding ice maker in place, do not remove screws. Lift ice maker to access connector. Use a small flathead screw driver to release tab on plug/connector. Remove ice maker, look at the connector and see how many pins are used in the connector, and check against new ice maker. Reinstall ice maker in reverse order. Plug appliance back in, and let ice maker cycle. Listen for water inlet valve to turn on. Water inlet valve should turn on for approximately 7 sec then turn off. The ice trays are filled, and your good too go. HAPPY ICE MAKING.
