Problem
Whirlpool microwave LOUD Hum with no heat
Tools
Philips and torx with electrically isolated handles - volt meter - skills
Repair & Advice
Bad hum, no heat in microwave, tried the CL04-12 diode first (must drain, short out big capacitor first - look on YouTube for this, so you don't injure yourself) The diode is inexpensive, so worth a try first, but did not heat after new diode. So I needed a new magnetron, I did not know about partsdr.com and was a bit skeptical (since they had the lowest price of everyone, much lower...) BUT they looked legit after checking them. Part came really fast with basic shipping across the US. Part was brand new in factory box. I will be buying from them from now one, very happy. Microwave is working now, wife is happy!!!!

Problem
Microwave would not heat food.
Tools
Phillips head screwdriver.
Repair & Advice
Replacing the part was pretty straightforward. I removed all the screws that held the cabinet in place. Located the magnetron and removed it by unplugging the connector and removing the Phillips head screws. Installation was the reverse of removal. Works like a charm!
