Problem
Maytag front load washer with frequent "E01; F03 or E01; F09" fault codes. Occasional "SUD" fault when little soap or no soap was added.
Tools
nut driver for back removal; pliers to remove drain hose clamp; ratchet wrench with short extension and socket for pump assembly screws.
Repair & Advice
Problem as described above. Checked pump filter {"coin trap"]; air dome and hose; water level sensor. Removed pump from pump assembly. Discovered play in pump impeller shaft. Purchased all parts previously mentioned. Only needed pump but wanted to have air dome; hose and water level sensor ready if needed. Time is expensive, parts are cheap.
All parts were Whirlpool factory certified, exact fit, competitively priced, arrived quickly, well packed and in good condition.
Tips:
1. Don't remove top center screw on back {it's in a "keyhole" slot}; loosen only and slide the back to right when all other screws are removed.
2. Have container to place screws as removed. I use a magnetized parts bowl. A powered nut driver speeds up the job - be careful not to over-tighten when reinstalling screws.
3. if you have a "wet vac" siphon any residual water by sucking on the drain hose before opening the pump. This will eliminate needing a bowl and rags to catch water.
4: Have a light - it's dark in there.
5. Careful of sharp metal edges.
6. The pump assembly screw nearest the front of machine may be difficult to find. Look at the new part or pictures for exact location. Find it with your finger tips.
ALWAYS SUSPECT PUMP if your machine has any age. You can often get a faulty pump to work for a while by turning power off and on again, cleaning air dome, blowing into hoses . . . BUT if you keep getting faults CHECK THAT PUMP.
GOOD LUCK.

Washer not draining

Repair & Advice
Repair was straightforward, simple. Broken easily removed, was attached with only a few screws. New pump installed in minutes. The most difficult aspect of the repair is having to get to the pump - access to the pump used to be through a front panel, Whirlpool now has the unit in the rear, total design flaw IMHO. Repair is between Very Easy/Easy, I rated as ‘Easy’ due to having to move/climb behind washer.
