I purchased a new Whirlpool gas stove, which was a "scratch & dent". Unfortunately, the LP gas was missing. The Parts Dr. had exactly the parts needed to make the conversion, which was a bit time-consuming, but easy. The conversion kit arrived a couple of days early, which was an added bonus! And all the parts were new.

We followed the installation instructions that came with the stove. It pays to be very methodical, careful, not rush, and use common sense. Read and re-read the instructions, step-by-step. YouTube videos were very helpful and were a great confidence-builder. We also watched very helpful videos showing how to remove the oven doors. After studying the tag on the stove, which states the BTUs of each burner, I organized the new gas orifices by color and verified the sizes stamped on each orifice. (That print was tiny, but the color coding provided a nice confirmation.) The gas orifices were arranged by levels for each oven, with the bottom oven orifice first, the top oven's 2 orifices next, and the range top orifices positioned to match the appropriate burners. I also compared the sizes AGAIN with the installation manual instructions, as well as the BTU info on the stove. We converted the bottom oven gas orifice, then replaced the top oven orifice and the broiler orifice. Last to be changed were the range top burner orifices. Each orifice was rechecked before installing. Time-consuming, but well worth the peace of mind that comes with never assuming. A slight problem occurred when we discovered we needed a new adapter (and pipe dope) to hook the gas line to the stove. Two trips to the hardware store resolved that issue. We did spend some time lowering the rear "feet" and leveling the stove, before hooking it up. Also made sure the rear leg slide easily into the anti-tip bracket. Once that was done, we plugged in the stove's electric cord, turned on the gas, then slid the stove back, and made sure the rear leg was properly seated in the anti-tip bracket. I turned on a couple of stove top burners. It took a few seconds for the burners to light, because of air in the lines, then lit the rest of top burners. The burners were then set to their lowest setting, and each flame height was adjusted, if needed. Next, we lit the ovens, one at a time, and I verified the temperatures with an oven thermometer. All was good, and no other adjustments were needed.

So glad I the conversion kit came in for my stove and oven. Easily changed and now I don’t smell the propane and no more black on bottom of pans.
