Problem
Part was rusting on the underside.
Tools
The guy who wrote the review saying he used " a 1/4" nutdriver and some plumbers pliers obviously didn't swap out this part. While a 1/4" nutdriver and pliers were used, you needed to have a set of torx bits to get the glass top off the part. Without them you were SUNK. Side cutters and vice grips and a battery powered screw driver were also used. This repair, while not terribly difficult, was time consuming.
Repair & Advice
This repair is not for someone with little hands on skill. The video's online that tell you how to remove the top (clips in the front) are WRONG. Mine had to be slid forward after removing the two screws in the green tabs in the back. ALSO, the video showing them using a putty knife to remove the control area is also bogus. Mine required the back portion of the control area to be removed to reveal two screws that held the control area in place.
To remove the glass top, you must remove two T10 torx screws on each side at the bottom of the top hinge area. Then the top slid off the guides and you could then remove the hinges.
EVERYTHING had to be transferred from the rusted unit to the new and this took some time and thought.
Be careful, take your time (and notes if you want), but this CAN be done.
