Repair & Advice
A tab had broken off and required the entire icemaker to be remove and disassembled.
I unscrewed and removed the icemaker's cover flap using the bendable 1/4" hex socket. Then, removed the 3 hex head screws from under the icemaker tray as well as the one hex bolt under the protective wrap from around the wiring. Remove the plastic guard by rotating and pulling away from the back. Pushing the release clips underneath at the front, you should be able to carefully slide the entire icemaker out. (There will still be wire connected at the back right side.) Push the clip in on the flat side of the wire connection, while holding both parts of the plug and pulling apart.
Now, you need to remove the wire connection to the the motor by pushing in the clips and pulling on both sides of the plug to separate it. Then carefully pull up on the raised areas on one side of the plastic cover that houses the motor and slide it off. Using the phillips head screw driver, remove the (3) screws to the motor housing and separate the two sides (Be careful not to lose the tiny white plastic adjustment screw that tells the icemaker how much water to fill the tray with!) The small tab that was stuck inside fell out at this point.
Next, you need to put the end of the new replacement part into the appropriate slots of the motor housing. Make certain the rotator matches up to the turning mechanism and and put the two sides back together.
Reverse all steps above and enjoy the fruits of your labor!
