Problem
Heating element would change temperature settings on it's own.

Repair & Advice
Shut the 220 volt power off at main disconnect.
Lifted the Whirlpool built in electric cooktop and turned it over on the granite counter on a towel.
Removed all of the necessary screws from all sides.
Removed the bottom cover.
Removed the metal cover from the center control box.
Removed the surface element switch and installed the new one.
Installed the center control box.
Installed the bottom cover.
Turned the cooktop over and set it back into the counter hole.
Turned power back on and tested the new element switch.
Everything worked out perfect. Great product.
