Problem
Undercounter ice maker burning smell and compressor quit running
Tools
Pliers to crimp spade terminals
Repair & Advice
The drain tube was dripping condensate right over the connection to the compressor start relay. Over time this burned the connector to the start relay. Replaced the wire connectors, the start relay was a plug in replacement, job was finished.

Problem
Have Maytag washer in a cabin that is not heated during winter. The main value system for the washer evidently still had water in it even though we drained the system , and it froze over winter and when we turned it on in the Spring it leaked all over the place. Called a repair company that wanted $175 trip charge, $400 for the part and the labor that would run anywhere from $185 to $300 to fix. Ordered the part on line, watched a video for fixing the problem, and put it in myself for less than $320.00.
Tools
1/4" Socket, Needle nose pliers, and Screw Driver.
Repair & Advice
It only took 30 minutes from beginning to end to change out the part. The video was extremely helpful. Would highly recommend doing this yourself to anyone that wants to save a lot of money doing it yourself versus paying someone to come in a do the same thing for almost triple the money!!
