Repair & Advice
Always check your kids pockets BEFORE they go in the washer! Replacing the glass was simple, loosen a few screws, remove all the broken glass. Pop the new one in place and tighten. It only fits one way, so easy an old Grandma can do it.

Problem
The original glass window cracked into a myriad of pieces, because a child did not remove a heavy magnet from his pants, and the constant impacts led to the failure of the window.

Screwdriver
Repair & Advice
The interesting thing about the shattered glass window is that it didn't fail until after the wash was completed. It must have cracked earlier and then as the washing machine cooled down, the glass shattered due to thermal changes and the original crack, The new window is plastic and won't break so easy. A welcome change. The repair took about 15 to 20 minutes to install.
