Problem
Splines (teeth) on agitator were stripped out.
Tools
Ratchet with long extension.
Repair & Advice
Replacing this agitator is an easy job. It's literally one bolt under the cap of agitator. Replacing the gearcase is a bit more difficult and time consuming.

Problem
Washing machine agitator not working correctly
Tools
Socket wrench
Repair & Advice
We have an old Roper, a very basic machine, but the "teeth" on the inside of the agitator seem to wear out on occasion. We can change it out ourselves and save the cost of a repairman or a new washer which are no longer basic machines.
