I was quoted 149.00 to fix my dryer; My mom, 75 years old, looked on YouTube for 2 minutes and discovered what was wrong. I only spent $20.00 with PARTS DR( and part arrived 2 days later)! It took less than 5 minutes to fix. 1)Unplug dryer( I turned off breaker first since these plugs sometimes get stuck and I was teaching my 7 year old boy how to save money doing repairs yourself and being safe.) 2) Unscrew dryer switch at the top rim of the entry of dryer 3) pop dryer top up by using a screw dryer 4) disengage connection by pressing screwdriver in plastic fittings. 5) connect part and screw back in 6) take your family out with the money you saved! If you are unsure watch a few video's online. BEFORE YOU ORDER the part, take it off unit and match the numbers on it! Many reputable stores tried to sell wrong parts to me ( 3 prong plug compared to 2 even though I gave serial number, make and model of unit.)

Screwdriver. putty knife

Very easy repair. Removed dryer filter housing - two screws. Released top of Whirlpool dryer with putty knife to gain access to switch. Removed and replaced switch - two screws. Secured top. Reinstalled filter housing and filter. tested....done.
