Problem
Door wouldn't unlock
Tools
Screwdriver and 5/16 socket
Repair & Advice
Repair man told my parent's that the washer wasn't worth fixing. Part alone was over $300, plus labor to install. I looked up the part here and saw it was $125. I YouTube on how to install, was super easy, took less than a half hour. Now it works like it always had. Only difference from the replacement part to the original was the original had 4 electrical connections and the new part had three. The 4th connection on the original part looked like it was for a light bulb. I installed it anyway and it works just fine.

Problem
Maytag Neptune dryer was giving me an “open door” error code.
Tools
1/4” socket and a screw gun with a Phillips head
Repair & Advice
First you need to unscrew the detergent tray on the top. Otherwise you won’t be able to lift the top of the washer. Next I removed the front door, four phillips screws. That will allow you to remove the front panel. In the upper left and right corners you will find the 1/4” screws that need to be removed along with the pieces of metal that holds to the top of the washer. Now left the top of the washer to access the door latch assembly, remove the wire connectors and remove the two screws. The assembly will remove very easily. Reverse the process for install.
