Unplug washer, turn off water, remove hoses in rear, remove metal backing plate from rear of control panel, remove 2 long screws [1 at each end/side] that hold control panel to top/rear of washer. Unplug the 2 electrical connectors on top of the valve [1x HOT, 1xCOLD] - Remove screw/plate that holds control valve in place. Problem
Water was dripping into the washing machine tub while not in use, and would turn itself on to pump out the water.
Tools
I used a socket wrench, screw driver to remove hoses, and opened end wrench for the two screws that hold in part. I do not recall the size tool I used.
Repair & Advice
I first ordered this part from Amazon and twice they sent me a part for a dishwasher, glad I came here to Parts Dr. The replacement part it’s pretty straightforward the hardest part is getting the two screws out if you don’t have the right tools. One thing I would like to mention is there’s a sensor in the very middle that has a single wire going to it. Once you remove that sensor there is a grommet that needs to be removed and replaced into your new part.
