Problem
The GE washer unit I have is a front load washer that you first need to push a button to turn it on then you could use the scroll knob and buttons to set what you want to wash and then you can start washing. Well one day the washer did not turn on and after replacing this specific part the washer works perfectly fine again. Something had burned out on the old control board that then stopped sending the proper voltage/current to the front controls of the washer.
Tools
I used a Screwdriver with the philips bit and a specific bit (torx or double square) and a small hex socket (don't remember the size)
Repair & Advice
I had first looked for a washer repairman to fix my washer and when they became unreliable I decided to replace the part myself. I first removed the detergent load tray and then unscrewed 2 screws with the philips bit. Then I pulled off the turn knob and used the torx/double square bit to remove the screw hidden behind the removed knob. I then lifted straight up the front control part of the washer with a little bit of wiggle and force it unattached itself from the the washer unit. I disconnected the one cable connecting it to the washer and put it aside. I then used the small hex socket to remove the 3 exposed screws. I then pulled the top metal sheet of the washer forward and up to removebthe cover exposing all the washers innards. I wa then able to remove 3 more hex socket screws and unattached all the wiring from the control board and replace it with the new one. After that it was just putting all the pieces back together.

Washer would keep pausing, never spin correctly.
Tools
Phillips Screwdriver, needle nose pliers, Torx bit, socket wrench.
Repair & Advice
Pretty straight forward. Take pictures of the board before you remove all the cables so you have a good reference of where everything goes.
